July Report

On July 14th we took Benjamin to Children's Hospital for his monthly checkup. Dr. Mosca continues to be very impressed by Ben's recovery - he says that Ben is a "professional" bone-grower. The new section of bone is much more calcified than before. It's now almost the same shade of grey as his original bone on the x-ray image (the new section is the vertical segment in the lower part of the femur). A few more months, and the femur should be strong enough to remove the pins and fixator. In the meantime, Ben is still enjoying swimming, camping, and everything else this summer. What a trooper!
