Hardware Removal

What a quick year! It has been over a year since Benjamin had his hip and knee surgery. We went back to Children's Hospital the first week in April to get his knee checked. Dr. Mosca said the plate and screws have done exactly what they were supposed to do and it is time to remove them. He is very impressed with the skeletal change and how fast it has corrected. That same week we went to Disneyland as a family for the first time.  While at Disney we met up with an awesome family with a child with a similar PFFD journey as Benjamin. Her name is Amaya.
She is going through her leg lengthening right now. It was good for us to talk, share information and see a fixator up close and personal. Here is her blog if you want to know more about lengthening.

Benjamin has his surgery scheduled for May 8th. This will be his last surgery for a while. Dr. Mosca has given us a big range for possible ages for lengthening and seems to not be in a huge hurry (age 8-10).
Benjamin will be celebrating his birthday on the 24th of May. He is excited to get more legos for his upcoming surgery and birthday! He is still a lego maniac.

This is Benjamin after Splash Mountain!!
