Today has gone as well as can be expected. Last night we were able to get some decent sleep in between vitals checks and repositioning throughout the night. We have tried to keep Benjamin comfortable, entertained and distracted when necessary. Tomorrow we will turn off the epidural and move to medication by mouth only starting at 6am. We may go home if all goes smoothly however we don't want to rush things. Pain management is super important and right now his appetite is really low because of the medication. This is a delicate dance between being comfortable pain wise and feeling well enough to eat and drink. Compared to our previous experiences with surgeries and hospital stays, he is handling things like a trooper and Ryan and I are super proud of him. I think this is usually the hardest day post op and tomorrow will be a different experience. Thank you for your continued prayers and words of encouragement.
Benjamin and Rolo, his new hedgehog saying hello!
