Small Victories Day 4

We came home yesterday(Sunday 3 days post op). It felt amazing last night to have a real bed to sleep in (even if it was not the easiest night). Benjamin did a great job on the ride home but struggled with not wanting to be moved to get out of the car. Of course we eventually made it into the house. We were NOT able to complete all the physical therapy requirements before leaving the hospital but there was really NO REASON for us to stay there another night. 

Today, Ryan and I have taken it upon ourselves to start small steps to get him ready for PT on Thursday. This is tough for all of us (I felt like I had competed in a race or climbed a mountain). When Benjamin, made his mind up, he was able to do what needed to happen. Often he needs cheerleading and encouragement. There have been a few brief "rough" spots, but in general he is making progress hourly. The three of us were all able to take a nap while Zoe was at school. 

We are truly blown away with support. We had special lunch brought to us (Pastor Chris), dinner (Katy) and treats (Lil and Jen & Sam). Visits have helped Benjamin be brave and try new things.  Call us if you would like to visit!
